Daily QC Log
Every morning, one row: incubators, stages, fridges, LN₂, hood, room. Each check has its own acceptable range; anything outside turns red on the spot, and the month rolls up into the summary an assessor asks for first.

What it does
- Checks sheet — 20 rows pre-filled with the usual morning checks (three incubators' temperature / CO₂ / O₂, ICSI and stereo stage temperature in a drop, heated block, warming plate, media fridge, freezer, two LN₂ dewars, lab temperature and humidity, hood airflow, gas pressure). Rename them, change ranges, switch rows off — it's your lab's list.
- Daily Log — 31 rows, one per day; the date fills itself from the month you set. Type the reading; red means outside range, green means in range. Initials and a notes column for the action taken.
- Monthly Summary — days logged, excursions, min / max / mean per check, days with any excursion, days fully logged, and a sign-off line for the QC lead.
Why “independent reading”
Incubator displays drift. The sheet asks for CO₂ from an independent analyser and temperature from a calibrated probe at dish level — because that is what protects embryos, and it's what an auditor wants to see logged. Log the display too if you like; log the independent reading always.
How labs use it
- Set the month on Start Here. Edit the Checks sheet once to match your equipment.
- Every morning, fill one row before the first case. Two minutes.
- Red cell → write what you did in Notes. If it recurs, or embryos were exposed, open a CAPA (builder coming to this page).
- Month end: print or save the Monthly Summary into your QC file. Start a fresh copy for next month.
Ranges are starting points, not our recommendation for your lab. Set them from your equipment's IFU and your SOP; the defaults are typical values only.
