SOP Builder

Pick the procedure. Get a starting draft written by a certified clinical embryologist. Edit every line to what your lab actually does — and print a document an assessor recognises.

How it works

  1. My Lab — list your incubators, media and equipment once; they appear in the SOP's Materials section by name and model.
  2. Details — pick the procedure, set SOP number, version, effective date (review due fills itself, two years on), author, purpose, scope, responsibilities, safety and references. Sensible defaults are pre-written.
  3. Steps — a draft appears for the procedure you chose. Copy each line into your column and edit it, delete what doesn't apply, add what's missing. Mark any step critical and it prints flagged.
  4. Records — what gets written down, where it lives, who completes it, how long it's kept. Pre-seeded with the seven records most labs need.
  5. SOP — the finished document assembles itself in the standard ten sections, ready to print to PDF and sign.

Procedures drafted

ICSI · oocyte retrieval handling · vitrification · warming · embryo grading and recording · witnessing and identity verification · incubator quality control · media and consumable receipt, storage and use · semen sample preparation · embryo transfer (laboratory role).

The draft is a starting point, not a standard. Times, temperatures and volumes must come from the IFU of the exact products you use and from your own validated practice. Your laboratory owns, validates, approves and is responsible for every SOP it issues — this tool only drafts.

Why this exists

Every accreditation asks for SOPs. Most labs either write them under deadline or inherit a set from a friend's lab that doesn't match their own equipment — and then nobody follows them. Starting from a competent draft and editing it to your reality takes an afternoon instead of a fortnight, and produces something your staff can actually work to.
