What it is and how it's used

Whatever the brand, the failure modes are the same: exposure and concentration.

Typical failure modes

  • Over-exposure → oolemma damage, degeneration, lower fertilisation.
  • Under-exposure → residual cumulus, difficult ICSI, mechanical damage during stripping.

What to check first

  1. Seconds of exposure per oocyte batch.
  2. Dilution correctness.
  3. Lot/expiry.
