What it is and how it's used

Stable when closed but slow to recover after openings; shared chamber means one door opening affects every patient inside. Water pans are a contamination point.

Typical failure modes

  • Recovery time stretched by frequent openings → embryos spend hours off set-point.
  • CO₂ sensor drift (TC sensors sensitive to humidity); temperature gradients between shelves.
  • Water pan contamination; humidity loss when pan runs low.
  • Compressor/vibration effects.

What to check first

  1. Door-opening frequency (log it for a week).
  2. Independent CO₂; temperature at several shelf positions.
  3. Water pan schedule and disinfectant used (must be embryo-safe).
  4. KPIs by shelf/position.
