Warming (thawing) — technique
Rapid rewarming of vitrified material through thawing, dilution and washing solutions.
What it is and how it's used
The first well temperature and the speed from LN₂ into it decide most warming failures.
Typical failure modes
- Survival drop across embryos of many freezing dates → warming side.
- Partial lysis; failure to re-expand.
What to check first
- Probe temperature of thawing solution in the well before every session.
- Speed and handling; timings per step; media lot.
- Post-warm culture conditions and time before assessment.
